The ES-359 semi-hollow from Gibson adds gold hardware Grover tuners and an ebony fingerboard with large mother-of-pearl block inlays to one of the most exciting guitars in decades; the ES-339. The ES-359 is part of the next generation from the Custom Shop of Gibson's iconic ES electric guitars. The ES-359 delivers bold semi-hollow tone that is rich with expressive even stinging overtones in a smaller solidbody-sized guitar. The ES-359 has some exciting enhancements including Memphis Tone electronics the 30/60 slender neck profile an AAA figured flame maple top ebony fingerboard as well as reduced dimensions and weight.

Memphis Tone electronics
Memphis Tone circuitry uses 500K audio taper pots that operate with an interactive load that preserves high end as you turn down the volume. The loading effect preserves the full-bodied tone with rich midrange and singing sustain from the '57 Classic humbuckers while adding a very sweet bite. Another difference: the volume is very smooth rolling off in even increments along with the numbers on the knobs. Since they operate more like how we hear (logarithmically) the controls work the way the player thinks they should. So when the guitarist turns down the volume the highs are still there!

30/60 Neck
Developed in assistance from guitar guru Jon Schwartz the 30/60 slender neck is a '60s style neck with an extra .030" front-to-back to preserve the semi-hollowbody tone sustain and feel while providing smooth playability.

Grohl has always been a long-time fan of the Trini Lopez signature model guitar that Gibson built from 1964-1971. Grohl has a particular love for the Trini Lopez in a rare Pelham Blue color that was used by the Gibson Custom Shop in producing this limited model.

Dave Grohl's Inspired By DG-335 guitar has the classic Firebird-style headstock with six-on-a-side tuners set into an ES-335 style semi-hollow body. The body of the guitar has stylish diamond f-holes and a double cutaway design. The inlays on the rosewood fretboard are acrylic split diamond which is a unique feature that remains from the original Trini Lopez model. Grohl's taste is even expressed through the pickups which are BurstBucker 1 in the neck and BurstBucker 2 in the bridge. These pickups are within the original Patent Applied For humbucking spec, known for their ability to create clean and articulate distortion and responsible for helping to deliver the amazing tones that Grohl has become famous for while fronting the ever popular Foo Fighters.

The Inspired By Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard features a solid mahogany body with a carved plain maple top, a one-piece mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard. Burstbucker pickups provide the big, warm sound for which Warren is famous. The finish, handpicked by Warren, is a beautiful burst whose color is somewhere between lemondrop and iced tea. The included CAE Sound preamp has a unity-gain buffer that, when activated, maintains a consistent tone when volume is lowered. It also preserves signal strength and quality when running through multiple effects. It was important for Warren to have balance between the pickups, to have a smooth sound from the neck pickup, and that when you flip the pickup switch, it doesn't sound like you just switched guitars. Since the late 1960s, Winter has been cranking out some of the meanest and most spellbinding slide guitar ever recorded, and performing live, he can still blast searing, gut-wrenching blues without even breaking a sweat. For decades, Winter has relied on one guitar-a 1963 Gibson Firebird V. The depth and mellowness of the Gibson L-5 CES is winning acclaim for this fine jazz guitar from the most discriminating artists. The tonal quality of the acoustic guitar and the advantages of an electric are combined in one instrument. Very few carved guitars are built each year because of the scarcity of the wood required and the handcrafting involved. The building of the L-5s is overseen by Jim Hutchins, a Gibson Builder since 1963. The process has remained relatively unchanged since the 1950s, including the hand-tuning of the top and back. Guitarists sing the praises of the comfortable vintage neck; the fast, easy action; and the rich beauty of the carved spruce top.
