The first thing you'll notice about this Les Paul Special is that the entire top, the pickup covers and the truss rod cover are all covered with a metal engraving in an ornate fern pattern. Also gracing the top is an engraved cross filled with a stunning mosaic of turquoise and red-brown stone. All of this finery can't hide the fact that this is a solid mahogany guitar with a solid mahogany set neck, ensuring rich, full tone. The 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and rounded neck provide comfortable playability. The artists at Gibson balance the look of this guitar with simple trapezoid pearl inlays on the fretboard and a gloss black headstock bearing a pearl Gibson logo.
