The Gibson DSR Dreadnought acoustic guitar is made from solid rosewood and sports features such as Gibson's traditional scalloped bracing, double acting truss rods, a premium Sitka spruce tops, and Fishman Prefix Pro Blend electronics for plugged-in play.

The DSR Dreadnought features a J-45 headstock, the rosette of the SJ-200, the pickguard from the Blues King, and the bridge from the Woody Guthrie Southern Jumbo. Gibson blended these timeless features with two classic body styles the legendary dreadnought and the grand concert, and traditional guitar-making woods including mahogany and rosewood — creating a series of guitars for every personal preference.

Other significant appointments include a solid mahogany, 25-1/2-inch scale neck with an ebony fingerboard, white binding, genuine mother of pearl dot inlays, chrome hardware, and Tusq saddles, nuts, and bridge pins. The headstock and peghead carry the Gibson logo in silk-screened gold letters. In addition, every Songmaker Series acoustic comes with its own standard hard shell case from Gibson Acoustic.
